COULD YOU BE A CHAPLAIN?

Taunton Team Chaplaincy provides chaplains who serve in:
  • Care Homes
  • Retail premises
  • Offices
  • Town centre and open spaces
  • Working with the marginalised community
  • Taunton Rail station
As well as supporting associated chaplaincies with Reserve forces, Sea and marine cadets, Air cadets and the Royal British Legion.

The qualifications to be a chaplain include:
  • Active membership of a local Christian church
  • To be a ‘people’ person with good listening skills
  • Satisfactory references from their church leader and someone else
  • A willingness to undertake appropriate training
  • A commitment to give time regularly at their placement, attend team meetings and pray for the Chaplaincy
  • Agreement to wearing at least one item of identifying uniform
  • A willingness to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check done where required by their placement
